Due to the vast experience we’ve accumulated over the past 104 years, there are probably few, if any safes or vault doors that we don’t know how to open or service. And if by chance we don’t know what to do, we know someone who does. That’s why people call us from all over the country.

We can open virtually any safe, from the simplest to the most sophisticated. Our master technicians know how to do this with the understanding that once your safe is opened, it can be easily repaired and put back in complete operating condition. Costs to open and repair a safe varies greatly based on the type of safe as well as the site conditions, since some safes may need to be moved slightly for the most intelligent method of opening it to be accomplished.
In preparation for calling us, please make sure to have as much information as possible about the locked safe. Its manufacture, security level (UL or other rating) along with the site conditions, including the available space around the safe will let us quickly analyze the situation in order to help us prepare correctly for the work to be done.
As it pertains to anything we own and operate, some (a few) of us maintain everything in good working condition, at all times. The majority of us do just the opposite… rarely maintain anything and end up letting something get worse until it gets to the point where you can’t open the lock, close the door completely, operate the windshield washers, the chain finally breaks, your shoelaces get so thin they finally break (and then you find yourself frantically searching all over for the replacements that you forgot to buy the last time you were in the shoe store), the tires wear down until there are no treads remaining and you almost slide off the wet road into a tree… does any of this sound familiar?
If you happen to be the efficient one, you’ve already contacted our office when a repair needs to be done, at the first indication that something was not working properly. This person is probably not even reading this far down on the page!
As for those of you who have a safe that just stopped working correctly or completely, for one reason or another, without advanced notification… we apologize for putting you through this rhetoric… just call us and we’ll get there as quickly as possible to fix it!
By the way, when our service tech is there, don’t worry, we won’t try to sell you anything that you don’t really need, but you’re welcome to ask us to perform maintenance service on it (for a fee, of course), especially since you probably never had it done since buying the safe 35 years ago!
Keep in mind: maintenance reduces stress… BIG Time.
Change the combinations on your safe or vault door whenever there is a change in personnel. In order to maintain complete control over the contents in your safe or vault, it’s imperative that you change the code whenever you have a change in personnel who have access to the safe. We can provide this service at any time at a reasonable fee.
It is strongly recommended that your safes and/or vault doors be serviced at least once a year to make sure they are operating correctly. If we’re going there to change one or more combinations, this may be a good time to have the maintenance service performed. Please ask our service coordinator what the additional fee will be to provide this service.
Before I forget, please make sure that the code you have us set on the lock does not have numbers that others who know you or the person who will be using the code would be able to “guess”. Make sure they’re numbers only you will know and remember.
Replace or Duplicate Keys
For those of you who have the keys that secure the main door or inner compartment of your safe, if you lost or damaged the duplicate key, we can duplicate it or even replace the key lock, if it’s deemed necessary (or beneficial).
High Security Keys For those of you who misplaced or lost the main door operating key, somewhere, but don’t really know where or when, which means that there’s a slight possibility that it may get into the wrong hands… the best solution may be to replace the remaining key with a new set of keys with a different key code. You may have a key lock that cannot be retrofitted with a new key code, so you may need to replace the entire key lock… with one that is “key-changeable”… so if you lose one key in the future, all you’ll have to do is get 2 new keys that you can probably change yourself, at a much lower cost!
For those of you who already have “key-changeable” key locks, all you’ll need to do is buy a new set of keys, along with the “change key” and the instructions to change the keyway, without having to pay us for a site visit to do it for you!
If you know exactly where you lost your key, and know that nobody will ever get his/her hands on it, you can always have us duplicate the current key. But consider the advantage of the “key-changeable” key lock… it may cost you similar dollars now and a lot less in the future!
Low Security Keys (inside compartment keys) Unless they are very unique and sophisticated European or Scandinavian keys, a typical compartment door key is easy to replace at a low cost. Again, should the key you lost or misplaced possibly fall into the wrong hands, we suggest that you replace the entire key lock… or if your lock can be reset, have two entirely new keys made for it.
Time Lock Installation & Service
Banks have been required to have time locks since the 1950s. This lock on each safe and vault door they have has eliminated after hours hold-ups in the financial community. The use of a time lock has taken away this “window of opportunity” for the guy with the gun! Bank personnel are now protected from such a life threatening problem after they leave work… stress reduction, made easy.
If you have a business where you store high concentrations of cash, jewelry, diamonds, precious metals, etc., then you may benefit greatly from the installation and use of a time lock on your safe or vault door… especially today and for the foreseeable future, when crime is most certainly on the increase.
If you decide to install such a lock, please make sure to publicize it in your place of business, to your employees as well as anyone who knows you have a safe or vault on your premises. In this way, you not only build in “protection” for your valuables, but you help build in “prevention” from being considered as a target for hold-ups after hours. A time lock helps protect personnel from undue risk…
We are prepared to show you how to operate your business in a more burglary preventative way. Please ask us for more details.
For those of you with time locks in use on your premises, we provide service to help keep the movements operating correctly.
For those of you with mechanical time movements, we may be able to retrofit your time lock with electronic movements that will make it much easier to operate the lock on a day to day basis, at a nominal cost.
For those of you with electronic movements in your time locks, you know how easy it is.
Among other things, periodic maintenance reduces stress. With that said, why don’t you treat your safe or vault door to an hour or two at the spa? Our service techs are great with their hands, and will do their best to make your safe or vault door feel wonderful and operate on a much higher level for months, if not years, to come.
I know that I should be speaking “professionally” here, but for those in the know, we do our work professionally anyway, so a bit of levity works just as well, if not better, sometimes.
