In 1979, we commissioned 11 contemporary artists to take a safe of their choice and transform them into pieces of art.  Artists included Red Grooms, Richard Haas, Mimi Gross, Alan Herman, Suzanne Pitt, Bob Stanley, Tony Spengler, Lambert & Samborski, Lance Richbourg and others.

Pieces ranged in size from 16"x16"x19" to 96"x72"x72".  

The show,named "Combinations", debuted in our Soho showroom in 1981 and was written up in the New York Times by Susan Slesin.  

A few of the pieces are still on display today in our midtown showroom.
