Package PassersThe need to receive packages from outside one's premises is always a risk for companies that house jewelry, watches, cash and other valuables. In order to prevent unauthorized people from entering the premises during operating hours, we install package passers in reception and shipping areas where packages can be transferred through a protected wall in or out. Bullet resistant windows are usually placed above or to the side of the package passers so one can speak with the person on the other side of the wall, pass envelopes through deal trays, etc. If the packages to be passed are approved, the visitor (customer, messenger, freight or postal service, etc.) opens the passer from the reception area (threat side), places items within the container, and then closes the door so the person on the receiving end (protected side) can open the door and remove the items...protected from attack at all times. The objective at all times is to minimize the number of people from entering the premises. Only those authorized are permitted. The package passer prevents messenger or freight/delivery service personnel from entering. It is known that since there are personnel changes often at such companies, there have been many hold-ups performed by robbers impersonating delivery personnel, in order to gain access to the premises. By having a package passer, a company can help prevent a hold-up from occurring. Package passers can be fabricated in sizes and shapes to accommodate certain sized packages as well as to fit into the design of the reception area, taking into account doorways, windows, wall widths, etc. Money or Jewelry Cart Transfer Units Large package passers to allow the transport of cash, coin or large boxes or large quantities of boxes and other items, are placed on the floor to enable carts to travel through walls. Stainless steel is often used in reception areas of businesses where they want to make a good impression on clients and other visitors. It's also used on exterior doors where there's exposure to the elements, such as rain and snow.
