Bischoff - South AfricaBischoff safes were manufactured in South Africa. The majority of the safes they sold in the USA were manufactured specifically for this marketplace, yet one or two models were not. They were manufactured and marketed from the early 1980s for about 5 years only. WARNING!!! Please note that today you may find "factory refurbished models" being marketed (by a number of safe dealers) with UL TRTL-30x6 labels on them, and warn that there's a very good chance that they were not manufactured according to UL specifications. The reason we believe this to be true is because the sizes and wall thicknesses do not match up with any of the legitimate UL listed products they manufactured. Our conjecture is that these safes are most likely comparative to the lower security level TL-30 safes they manufactured. If by chance you are considering buying such a safe or own one of these safes, purchased sometime over the past 10 years, feel free to contact us with details about your purchase, its dimensions, etc., and we will do our best to help you determine if your product is legitimate or not.
