Avenue Series
Because of its relatively lightweight characteristics it is strongly recommended that your safe be secured to the floor or other surface it's placed upon. We do offer a selection of steel bases on which the safes can be placed and secured. Door Swing / Universal Hinges The safe has a universal hinge design that enables you to determine whether you want the door swinging to the left or right side. Please advise at the time of order. It's best to find a location where the door of the safe can open at least 135 to 180 degrees. This comes into play especially when safes are fitted internally with jewelry and watch drawers. We are prepared to help you determine the best and most accessible location for your safe. Locking The most popular lock selected by our clients is a UL listed commercial quality digital lock (battery powered). This lock enables the user to set their own personal 6-digit push button code while allowing them to open the safe within 3-5 seconds. Closing the door and turning the handle automatically locks the safe. This lock helps make your safe become an integral part of your daily routine, so valuables can be protected at all times. Optional Locks We offer the following alternative locking arrangements.
Custom Depth Option We can reduce the depth of any model to fit within your dimensional limitations....within reason, so please inquire within before designing and constructing a place for it. Custom Models Available If you require a safe of different dimensions we can manufacture one to meet your needs. Please inquire within for more details. Dimensions and Specifications
Access Dimensions & Door Projections
1These dimensions represent the clear entry into the safe past the boltwork chamber. In this particular series, you will find that the overall inside height and width are greater than these dimensions. 2The clear access width into the safe when the door is open 90 degrees indicates the widest item that can typically fit past the door, into the safe, but this will vary based on the length of the piece as well as if you have additional clearance on the open side to insert the item on an angle. Important Note: In this particular series, when the door of the safe is open 90 degrees, the handle projects 3/8" past the side edge of the safe, so if it's imperative that you be able to open the door 90 degrees, please make sure to allow for the additional 3/8" when designing/constructing the space where it will be placed. 3This dimension represents the minimum overall width required for the safe plus the projection of the door when opened far enough to provide straight-in insertion of the widest item that can fit into the safe. 4This dimension represents the minimum overall width required for the safe plus the projection of the door when opened 180 degrees. We recommend that you allow an additional 2-3" of space which will help prevent the door or one's fingers from hitting an object when opened completely. 5This dimension represents the minimum overall depth required for the safe plus the projection of the door when opened 90 degrees. We recommend that you allow at least an additional 2-3" of space which will help prevent the door or one's fingers from hitting an object when opened this far. Since you will be addressing/accessing the safe from the front it's important for you to consider how much additional room you'll need in order to comfortably take items out or put them into the safe. Steel Bases Many clients prefer their safes to be raised off the ground to provide easier access while not wanting to sacrifice security. To accommodate this request, we designed a selection of enclosed steel bases where the base can be anchored to the floor and the safe anchored to the top of the base, completing the security of the safe, making it difficult for a burglar to remove it from the premises. Bases can be reduced in height to accommodate dimensional restrictions.
1Model AV1512 can be mounted onto AVbase1212-12 but the safe will overlap the rear of the base by 2". (For security purposes, we can modify the base by increasing its depth to fit the complete bottom of the safe. Please discuss this with our security consultants at the time of order.) Open Steel Bases We can fabricate an open steel base for applications where securing the safe to the floor is not required. In this way, the empty space below the safe (within the base) can be utilized for the storage of other items.
